That is abysmal considering the fact that you have two exceptionally storied baseball clubs vying for one more notch on the belt. The Cards took the series in five games, but many fans tuned off (as well as ESPN and a number of the national newspapers). Sure, there was the obligatory day or two policy of the celebration and the reason why they won, but the success was not nearly as pronounced as say, the Yankees. Or the Red Sox. Or even the New York Mets!
